Location: Versailles • Île-de-France • North of France
With spring in full bloom, Karen and David chose the Palace of Versailles Gardens World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979 for an elopement that captured both French grandeur and natural softness. The former royal residence that hosts wedding and events offered a delicate balance between royal architecture and the countryside atmosphere, surrounded by magnolia trees, cherry blossoms, and wisteria. Living in the heart of Paris, the couple sought a location that felt personal yet unmistakably French close enough to the city but far from its familiar skyline. Beneath overcast skies and gentle light, Versailles provided a quiet stage for vows, photographs, and the quiet joy of two creatives celebrating love on their own terms.

Couture Design, Personal Details, and Spring Florals in Full Bloom
Karen wore a custom off-the-shoulder gown by Handmade With Love, its transparent corset and full skirt paired with hand embroidery that caught the soft light. Statement earrings and a golden hairpiece by Della Bella Gioielli completed her look, crafted exclusively for her in Switzerland. Her bouquet, designed by Mathieu of L’Atelier Artisan Bouquetier, featured garden roses and sweet peas that echoed the tones of the surrounding blossoms. The couple’s stationery suite by Ivy Cousin Graphic Designer carried elegant simplicity an artistic prelude to a day of refined, creative expression. Every detail, from styling to setting, reflected intention and individuality.
A Boat Ride, Cake, and Timeless Imagery by Daria Lorman
After portraits at the Temple of Love, Karen and David took a quiet boat ride across the palace waters—a tradition from their weekend walks brought to life on their wedding day. The celebration ended with a petite royal-inspired cake by Cakes by Meri, layered with strawberry and white chocolate and paired with sparkling wine. The entire day was documented by Daria Lorman, one of the talented wedding photographers in the North of France, whose lens captured mist, movement, and the intimacy of a day shaped by personal connection. The result was an elopement both cinematic and serene, perfectly at home in Versailles.
